🔬 About the Role
The NYSPI research volunteer program gives students an opportunity to participate in active psychiatric research studies through the New York State Psychiatric Institute and Columbia University Department of Psychiatry. Volunteers gain direct exposure to clinical research operations and experience working with human research subjects.
This can be a valuable opportunity for students interested in psychiatry, psychology, neuroscience, clinical research, or medical school.
What You’ll Do
- Provide clerical and administrative support, including data management
- Interact with human research subjects
- Observe testing sessions and research interviews
- Gain firsthand exposure to clinical psychiatric research
Requirements
Applicants must:
- Complete the online Volunteer Interest Form with a current resume/CV
- Complete a background check
- Obtain medical clearance before starting
- Complete the required online orientation
