Biochem Questions and Passages

INTRODUCTION
If you’re reading this, you are probably getting ready to study for the MCAT. Most of us were incredibly overwhelmed when beginning the process… we’ve all been there. So, before diving into how to use this book, take a deep breath and give yourselves a tap on the back for all of the hard work you’ve done to get to this point.

Overall, do not let the MCAT intimidate you. I liked to think of the test as a beast you need to defeat. Every study day is a battle. You will win some and you will lose some- but ultimately you are preparing for the final day and if you prepare well the test should be super chill. If you ever get burnout just TAKE THE DAY OFF. It will not hurt you long term, if anything you will come out ahead feeling refreshed and ready to tackle what the next day brings. If nothing else, you will learn a lot and definitely be smarter in the end.

At this point, you either have learned most if not all of the biology/biochemistry needed for the MCAT. Before you read this book, make sure that you have read MCAT King’s Biology I book, which you can find on Amazon! This book will be used to help drill in the content and provide you with practice problems that mimic the MCAT questions. Doing practice discrete questions and passages is more effective than simply reading through your notes (but still read through your notes!). Usually, when you see a concept presented in a problem, you’ll remember the concept better and it will also get you in the groove of APPLYING YOUR KNOWLEDGE. While going through this book, take notes on things that are hard for you. Remember, it’s better to get things wrong now so you can learn from your mistakes!
