A Selective Annual Mentorship Program

One Mentor.
Every Major Academic Decision.

From high school and college through the MCAT, medical school applications, and medical school itself, students face decisions that can shape years of their academic and professional lives.

The Prof. Zaghi Academic Mentorship Program gives a limited number of students direct, long-term access to an experienced educator and premedical mentor who can help them plan strategically, remain accountable, recognize problems early, and make thoughtful academic decisions.

Only Five New Students Are Accepted Each Year

This is a personalized mentorship program. To protect the quality of each student’s experience, Prof. Zaghi accepts no more than five new mentees per calendar year.

Submitting an application does not require payment and does not guarantee acceptance.

More Than
Academic Advising

Most students receive advice only after something has gone wrong.
They may seek tutoring after their grades decline, admissions guidance shortly before an application deadline, or MCAT support only after months of ineffective preparation.
Long-term academic mentorship takes a different approach.

Prof. Zaghi works with students to identify important decisions before they become emergencies. Together, the student and mentor create a personalized academic plan, monitor progress, address obstacles, and adjust the strategy as the student’s goals and circumstances evolve.

This is not subject tutoring, therapy, or a college admissions guarantee. It is a structured, long-term partnership designed to help students become more strategic, accountable, confident, and independent.

What the Program Is Not

Clear expectations create stronger mentorship relationships. The Academic Mentorship Program provides guidance, planning, accountability, and strategy—but it is not intended to replace other professional or educational services.

Unlimited Subject Tutoring

Mentorship focuses on strategy and academic planning rather than unlimited tutoring sessions.

Mental Health Counseling

The program does not provide therapy, counseling, or mental-health treatment.

Medical Treatment

No medical diagnosis, treatment, or healthcare services are provided.

Legal or Financial Advice

Students should consult qualified professionals for legal or financial matters.

Guaranteed Outcomes

No guarantee of admission, GPA, MCAT score, scholarships, or academic results.

Research or Internship Placement

Research opportunities, employment, and internships cannot be guaranteed.

School Advising Replacement

Official university or school advising remains an important resource.

24-Hour Emergency Service

The mentorship program is not intended for emergency academic or personal situations.

Essay or Application Completion

Guidance is provided, but work is never completed on a student's behalf.

Educational Services Available Separately

When appropriate, students may be referred to additional MCAT KING educational services, including subject tutoring, MCAT preparation courses, essay-development packages, application guidance, and other academic resources. These services are separate from the Academic Mentorship Program.

Apply for One of Five Annual Openings

The application helps us understand the student’s current position, goals, and expectations. Applications are reviewed individually.
A strong application does not need to describe a perfect student. We are looking for students who are receptive to guidance, willing to work consistently, and likely to benefit from a long-term mentorship relationship.
