Position: Medical Assistant Intern
Type: Paid Fall Internship – $17/hour
Location: 163 Saint Nicholas Ave, New York, NY 10026 (Harlem – entrance on 118th Street)
Hours: 2–3 days per week, approximately 12–15 hours per week
Additional Hours: 30–40 hours for 1–2 weeks during December break
Program Dates: September–December 2026
About the Internship
Soha Pediatrics, a general pediatric practice in Harlem, is seeking a senior pre-PA or pre-med student for a Medical Assistant Internship this fall.
No prior experience is necessary.
What You’ll Gain
Gain valuable hands-on clinical experience working with patients ranging from newborns to age 21. You’ll work alongside physicians, registered nurses (RNs), and other medical assistants while learning the daily operations of a private pediatric practice.
By the end of the internship, you’ll develop practical skills in:
- Obtaining vital signs
- Performing venipunctures
- Conducting COVID, strep, and flu testing
- Preparing vaccines
- Triaging patients
- Obtaining chief complaints
- Completing school forms
- Handling front desk responsibilities
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet both of the following requirements:
- Be graduating in Spring 2027.
- Be seeking a permanent position after graduation.
Successful candidates will have the opportunity to apply for a full-time permanent position starting in Spring/Summer 2027.
The practice asks students who do not meet both criteria not to apply.
Ideal candidates should also be independent thinkers, passionate about learning, and warm and empathetic toward patients.
