Overview
The Patient Advocacy Volunteer Program in Emergency Room Services (PAVERS) is offered through NYU Langone Health’s Ronald O. Perelman Department of Emergency Medicine. This program provides volunteers with structured experience in an emergency department (ED), including patient interaction, observation of emergency care, and approved clinical tasks.
Volunteers also participate in a monthly three-hour lecture series featuring case-based teaching, making this an academically focused opportunity for students interested in healthcare and emergency medicine.

- Weekly shifts: Two four-hour shifts per week at the selected hospital.
- Scheduling options: Four daily time-block options are available across all seven days of the week.
- Monthly meetings: One additional three-hour meeting per month, usually held on weekends.
