The American Red Cross Greater New York Region offers several hands-on volunteer opportunities that are well-suited for premed students.
Blood Collection Support Volunteers help support blood drives across the city, providing an excellent opportunity to gain experience in patient-facing clinical environments.
Disaster Action Team (DAT) Volunteers assist individuals and families affected by home fires and other local emergencies. Volunteers provide immediate support and help connect affected families with recovery resources.
Both opportunities offer flexible scheduling and provide meaningful ways to build service hours while developing skills relevant to patient care, communication, and crisis response.
