Position Description:
Dr. Teena Shetty, Founder and Director of the Concussion Program at the Hospital for Special Surgery and Associate Professor of Clinical Neurology at Weill Cornell Medical College, is seeking a full-time Clinical Research Coordinator to support both her concussion research initiatives and clinical operations.
This role provides an excellent opportunity for recent graduates to gain hands-on experience in clinical research, patient care coordination, and interdisciplinary collaboration within a premier academic medical center. The position is highly patient-facing with a strong administrative component, alongside meaningful involvement in research, data collection, IRB protocol development, and academic publishing.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating patient referrals and follow-up appointments within a multidisciplinary concussion team
- Providing high-level administrative support, including calendar management, correspondence, and scheduling
- Serving as a liaison between patients, families, and healthcare providers
- Assisting with research design and data collection in collaboration with biostatisticians
- Drafting and maintaining IRB protocols and obtaining patient consent for studies
- Conducting chart reviews and supporting research presentations
- Contributing to peer-reviewed journal publications
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) from an accredited institution
- Demonstrated interest in medicine, clinical research, and patient care
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities with professionalism
- Experience with clinical data and statistical analysis is preferred
- MCAT score and three letters of recommendation may be requested
Time Commitment:
Full-time, with a strong preference for a two-year commitment
Compensation:
$20.00–$30.00 per hour, depending on experience
